Climate Action - Urgency of Now

We would like to share with you the design process behind our prints. Everything begins with an idea or observation and slowly it grows and transform into what you choose to wear in your tee.

Every one of our designs has a meaningful purpose that aligns to our values and aims to make those who contemplate it to think about its subject.

Often I catch myself dreaming of a vegan world, where humans diet is based on peace and compassion towards every living creature on the planet, including humans and non-human animals. If I could manifest a change in the world that could have a positive impact to all inhabitants on the planet I would chose to live in a world where we see each other as equal.

From this idea I thought we could bring to life a design that advocates for the urgent necessity to stop looking at the difference between one to another. To me the interconnection between us is evident and clear. Despite all those differences that make up divisions amongst our race and specie, we have stronger similarities that unite us: we all have blood running on our veins, we all breath air, drink water and have the need to eat and sleep. So if we all have the same primal needs, why do we insist on looking for what at first glance make us different?

I choose to believe that these difference, such as colour, specie, ethnicity and national origin are qualities that enriches the environment and makes us unique.

What is urgent today?

At this point in history climate action seemed to be the most relevant at this point in history, as without a place for us to live and coexist in harmony there is no dream of a better future.

I soon came to realised that the acknowledgement of the ancestral wisdom of past generations was needed to reestablished harmony. With this ideas in mind i kept dreaming and I asked to the attendees of the Sydney Vegan market to share with us their vegan dream. I observe and adopted what seemed really small tiny actions to diminish our negative impact in the world.

Actions to be taken:

  • Carry your own reusable cutlery, shopping bag and keep cup

  • Buy organic local produce

  • Plant based / vegan life

  • avoid consuming plastic as much as possible.

  • Compost food scrap

  • Mend and repair clothing

  • Consume only when it is really needed and invest on good quality items.

We know it’s sometimes hard to explain the link between bushfires and climate change with your family and friends. Here’s a quick guide, backed by science, for how you can have a conversation about these issues.

I Have a Dream

The “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered by Martin Luther King, Jr. on Washington August 28, 1963 before a crowd of some 250,000 people at the 1963 March, remains one of the most famous speeches in history.

At that time in history the needs of social justice it was as relevant as it is today. It saddens me the fact that after all these years we have so many preconceptions that limit our perception and the way to see each other as equal, Even today we need to be constantly reminded that someone from a different race is not dangerous or inferior neither superior.

Rascism and speciesism is an act of discrimination, believing that one is more important than other. Human and non-human animals should have the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The initial idea was to create a print that inspire people to make this place a more peaceful and harmonious planet, where freedom and equality are the fundamental rights for everyone. However I soon realised that the greed of few have been distorting the balance in nature and that in order to live in a kinder place we will first need to save our planet.

Show kindness to all kinds

Based on the Ahimsa principle of yoga, it give us a guideline to how to relate to others. I know, it is easier said than done. But if i try my best at every encounter with other being I could take the opportunity to look at my behaviour and create changes when needed. I believe I have the power to make racism stop when im kinder to someone I dont know despite of their look.

Easier is to choose to feed myself and those I love with a vegan diet, because stop consuming product that have slaved animals will contribute to make this world a more peaceful place. Meat and dairy, particularly from cows, have an outsize impact, with livestock accounting for around 14.5 percent of the world’s greenhouse gases each year. That’s roughly the same amount as the emissions from all the cars, trucks, airplanes and ships combined in the world today.
